Left Kawana ramp about 1 Sat morn. Poked the nose outside to be greeted by a glassed out ocean :). Started out pretty quiet with just a couple of squire coming over the side. The wind was blowin about 10Kn from the SW and the current going in the opposite direction which made it hard to keep the baits on the bottom. We decided to drop the pick and take the wind out of the equation and found it quite fishable. My smallest reel on the smallest rod took off at a great rate of knots. I gathered it up and a twenty minuite battle began. Wind in two feet of line then loose three. Finally got colour and met my opponent a 30 pound Amberjack. Thing went a bit quiet from then on so we pulled the pin about 9.30. Tuff trudge back to the ramp with about 1 meter of SW slop, but the closer we got the better it got. Back in by 11.30 and head for home. Not one of our best trips but still a very enjoyable one.
