Spiro, Outsiderskip and myself ventured our way in glass out conditions to the northern banks. After drifting around for the first few hours in depths ranging from 40m to 90m we decided to anchor up on a spot of around 55m above a huge patch of wire weed. During the night we picked up our bag of snapper , a couple of pearlies with moses perch and maori cod making a showing. I lost countless gear to bust ups on the hard reef below on 60 - 80lb leader within seconds of hooking up to a good fish. We returned back at around 2 am in glass / slightly choppy conditions back to the kawana ramp. All in all it was a pretty average trip in good conditions. I just wish that red was 10cm longer

Nice fish there vertico, the snapper are really showing up in numbers. looks like everyone got a good feed of them hay.I was in the same sort of water depth as you and bagged out pretty quickly. all i need is to find some new ground with different fish.
Cheers Dave :)

Nice fish Sean. Sounded like a whale of a trip with Chris and Pete on board. Did you go in your boat?

The fish wern't really on the chew like normal ::) Still we got a feed and the skipper owe's a certain deckie a scratchy for biggest snapper{i had it won for 4 hours ;D} Trip out was good sitting on 47-53 klm and saw a free jumping sailfish. Spoke to SeaSaw at the ramp aswell as Cheech.

First pick is vert's on a snapper squire---------wowful conditions as you can see....lol

Those conditions are hard to take. Must agree that the fish were a bit quieter than usual. You all still managed a good feed tho.
