Did a quickie on Saturday morning to check out the fishing on a couple of local spots. Got to the Kolan Patch about an hour later than we wanted but it fished reasonably well all the same.

Finally just before we left the Northern Blues moved in. Five hours on the water in total so not too bad.

tonofffun,

had to take the opportunity when it arose as there was only a small window of decent weather. By the time we travelled back the 16 miles to the boat ramp it didn't look anywhere near as pleasant as the piccies.

Hi-Yo,

It's always good to get a quickie in whenever ya can lol.

kingcobe,

Both the Spanish and Northern went about 7kg there were plenty of mack tuna to about 5.5 kg around but we kept the little one for bait.

Darryl - It was a LOT lumpier than that at Cochrane's Artificial on Saturday!!! Had one of the other deckies providing berley all morning. I did tell him that a chocolate Up'N'Go wasn't the best breakfast to have before a bumpy run outside! ;D

Your conditions were better, and so were your fish!

Fishin_Dan,

Yeah it wasn't great but I think it was the best weather for the weekend. I take it there wasn't much happening out on the artie.

Darryl,

I haven't seen any of those red fillets sent my way yet. ;D

Good to see the right species are turning up for next month. Legal reds on 2 trips running, maybe the green boat was scaring them. What line class was the 100 pointer on? Got 50hr. service on motor done today, so hope weather gods are favourable for thurs - sunday.

Jeff,

3.7kg on 4kg line. This trip I was using 8kg just to see what was about for the Kinbacher Comp but Sean (new member) ended up with 3 * 100 pointers for the trip including a grass sweetlip on 1kg. I'll teach him to keep using kg for outside trips lol
