We had planned a trip at Barwon Banks, but the weather put paid to that. One of our other options was a trip close in off Goldy. Sam, Jeff and I headed out the seaway around 7.00am and immediatly scored a nice trev on a rapala, turned around and did the troll again and nailed a small spottie as we rounded the the nth wall. Could be a good day. We continued our troll towards Couran Cove and another 100m the red-head Lively got hammered and some unknown peeled off line at a rate of knots. Jeff took the rod and felt the weight of a good fish......gone, pulled in and the lure sported some impressive toothy marks. We headed down to Couran Cove and proceeded to land and lose a healthy number of medium spotties on pillies, great fun on light gear. We probably lost more that we landed...a switch to wire helped a lot, the size of the fish was improving but the bait supply depleted, we headed in to chase some flatties on sp's. The rain and wind picked up so we headed home early....great day out....ed

Nice catch there Eddy - just a quick note though, you caught a bunch of doggie mackerel not spotties. Dogs can be a little difficult to ID on there own but in a few of your photos the mackerel clearly have the large blotches rather than the smaller distinct spots of a spottie - a spotties spots will be present along the entire length of the body where as doggies blotches are often only visible on the back half of the fish - as per your photos.

Cheers
Andy

Ed,

Saturday was quiet, a few Crabs and a couple of Bonito. Andy thrashed the water to foam with the spinning outfit and metal lures, but couldn't get the Macks to play. The week prior they were going nuts, that's the way it goes :P
The Crabs above were caught on Friday, 4 pots left overnight produced 25 keepers !!

Cheers
Craig.
