Pair Of Jacks Win

Headed out early sat morning for a trip with the sempre crew.Destination mooloolaba,fish were on the chew non stop all morning with snaps and pearlies coming in every drop.
We also caught amberjack,moses perch and rosy jobfish.In the middle of our session we were smashed by a couple of mangrove jacks,one going 10kg the other 8kg.
Left the spot with the fish still on the chew but we had our share,so we left them for next time.

How good are those jacks! , absolute monsters. Very impressive indeed. Were you using mono or braid on the reel that caught the jacks? And was it a floater or a patternosta?

Did you look in the jacks stomach? Be interesting to see what they wer emuching on.

Hi Brown Dog,
What area of the Hard were you fishing? I was fishing the middle of the Hard friday afternoon and evening. We didnt get any Jacks though - you lucky buggers!! The Snapper were definitely chewing hard! When did you get the bulk of your Snapper - at night or day? We got ours on dusk as the moon was directly above us!

cheers everyone for the comments.It was a great day to be on the water on saturday with calm seas and plenty of fish.The bulk of the catch came in before sunrise.
The jacks hit at first light,caught on the bottom basher
with squid.All our fish were caught on pillies and squid.
Seapup we did not go to the hard this trip we tried a new spot further south.

Hope you have a fish and chip shop or plenty friends, if not you could post some to me in New Farm, great catch mate and you left the fish on the chew, always a top session when you can do that.
