First Red Sun 14th May

Had to put this photo up, as it tasted so good.
Fished previous Sun 3am to 11am for 8 snapper, 1 red, 4 perlies & some mixed reefies, parrot M-perch.
Pity the wind blew in around 5am & white capped for a few hours with a slow run home into a ssw.
One other first for the boat, my floater was taken only 30m out, with the the line rising to the surface I looked out to see a 1m+ fish break the surface stand on its tale and toss my gang hooks.
amazing to see, as my deckie was baiting up at the time he ony looked up to see the splash.
I won't repeat what he said when I told what I thought it was.
Pity it all happened in a couple of seconds.

where you catch the red on the banks?

was the other fish a mahi mahi or a billfish?

Yes seapup was on the b-banks.
& Jeffo, she didn't look like a Dollie, as I said it happened so quick I hafd to pinch myself that it actually happened. But I thought it was a billfish would have loved to have caught it for photo & release.

well done snap nice little first one and good for the banks. now you can get one 10 times the size that will go like the clappers. gear up drop down and hang on the big one may only be around the corner. well done keep fishing. ;D
