Well the ANSA Winter State titles have come and gone for another year and TEAM BOSS from Bundaberg have competed hard again with what we hope is good enough results to take out the win again.
With the weather against us we decided to head to the Kolan Patch about 16 mile run North of Burnett Heads and arrived just on day break. We trolled there till about 2pm with some reasonable fish coming on board at regular intervals then travelled to the wreck of the Barjon to troll till dark then headed for home.
Final tally
G.V. Northern Blue Fin Tuna * 2
Golden Trevally
Spanish Mackeral
Yellow Fin Tuna
J.L. Spanish Mackeral * 2
Northern Blue Fin Tuna
Golden Trevally
Yellow Fin Tuna
D.L. Golden Trevally * 2
Northern Blue Fin Tuna
Barracuda
Yellow Fin Tuna
Team Total 3085.375 points

Team BOSS
Hi Pelagic chaser,
I am an ANSA member, but a very slack one, mainly T & R these days.
Will get back into action eventually, as I want to complete a couple of masters certificates.
Anyway..... I was wondering what line classes you caught your fish on.
Very impressive fish there fellas!!
Cheers Roz.

Roz,
All bar 2 fish were caught on 4kg line. Most fish were between 6 and 8 kg with the Barracuda weighing 10.5 and 1 of the Golden Trevally at 10.3kg both on 4kg.

G'day Darryl,
top stuff mate in what I'd say was crap conditions. Barralundy probably told you how slow it was out off Caloundra, but we finished on a brighter note - see Estuary reports.

Jeremy,
Yes there was quite a few conversations between bundylundy and barralundi over the course of the weekend and a reminder that people were invited to fish our back yard.

Signature was out of action so we fished light out of Mooloolaba - 1kg, 2kg and 3kg line. #Russ who was our third member and the rest of our club fished Waruma Dam for a mix of Bass, Goldens, Barra and Catfish. #One of our members Bob ended up with 850 odd points or something for only 4 fish. #We ended up with a 5.9kg Mack Tuna on 3kg, 8.0kg Spanish on 3kg, 760gm Snapper on 2kg, 1.3kg Schooly on 3kg and 1.84kg Schooly on 2kg. Clint who was with me fared slightly better with 7.25kg Mack Tuna on 3kg, 8.65kg Spanish on 3kg, 1.12kg Snapper on 2kg, and a couple of 1.2kg Schoolys on 2kg. Spanish were there in force. Went 2 from 3 and spent most of the good part of the yesterday morning hooked up to them and fighting. Plenty of bait in all the usual haunts. Weather determined what we could do and couldn't do. 2:15 punch back into the SEer yesterday from 11.30 back to Mooloolaba all in a 5m Allison. Conditions were crap all weekend except for the ride heading out with a nice little SWer up our tails Friday night. Had my third ever seasick spew so it was very joggly, especially in the little boat that bobbed like cork. Clint was no good either as he usually fishes all night because he loves his night fishing. All fish on little threadline reels like the one over my shoulder for Bass fishing.
Clint.

Great fish Darryl :o
Have to ask though: who's your wonderful photographer? ::) ::)
Great sense of light and definition, as well as depth of field, especially with the size of the subjects he had to work with (outside ones at least ::) ;D ;D ;D)
No catty photo's but >:(

smithy well done great fish great photos .smailesy ipswich member
Very impressed with line to weight ratio, specially the 8kg Macktuna on 3kg.
From memory it has a factor of 1.5 (I hope), so you definately earned the points.
Really well done.
Roz.

Yeh Smailsey seen your name on here and wondered if it was you. You were in Ipswich United back in its hey day when Alex was president and the Mott boys were in full swing and Rackley was around weren't you? Over the last 10 years or so I have done a heap of fishing with Matt Mott.

Yes Roz,
Fighting factor is 1.5....So what Masters are you still chasing. There are quite a few new ones and some are pointed towards braid fishing. (all tackle)

Hi Darryl,
I am dangerously close to my masters in both Lure casting, sports fishing and Game. Have masters in T&R macktuna, almost have enough in mackeral and almost in bill fish, also well underway in yellow tail kings.
I've been very slack in the last few years, it might pay me to transfer to a club closer to where I live and fish, my club is Narooma Game & Sport but I live on the NSW North coast and I do most of my fishing up off 1770.
cheers
