FISHED THE HARDS YESTERDAY WITH MY MATE LACEY BLUE DOG(AUSFISH MEMBER) AND ANOTHER MATE SHANNON IN MY BOAT. #LEFT OUR BASE OF THE NOOSA RIVER AT 10AM. #LOADED UP ON YAKKAS ON WAY OUT AND THEN HEADED TO OUR MARK ON THE HARDS. #ANCHORED UP AROUND 1PM AND STARTED FISHING AND BURLEYING HARD. #FIRST FISH ABOARD WAS A PARROT FOLLOWED BY A 15KG AMBERJACK. #WE CAUGHT MAINLY PARROT THROUGH THE AFTERNOON. #AROUND 4:30PM THE FIRST SNAPPER CAME ABOARD, WEIGHING 5+KG. #THEN THE SNAPPER STARTED HITTING HARD FOR THE NEXT 3 HOURS.. WE CAUGHT 100+KG OF MIXED FISH BY 8PM AND HEADED IN. THE TALLY WAS:
25 X SNAPPER(THREW BACK 10 TO KEEP TO BAG LIMIT OF 15 FISH) - WEIGHT BETWEEN 1.5KG TO 5.5KG - AVERAGE OF 3KG.
2 X AMBERJACK
1 X MAHI MAHI
1 X SPOTTY MACKERAL(NEVER SEEN ONE ON THE HARDS - WAS A BLOW GETTING ONE THERE)!
2 X MOSES PERCH
12 X PARROT
3 X PEARL PERCH
3 X ROSY JOBFISH
1 X COBIA
3 X UNDERSIZE REDS

Hi Tony,
The AJ was my first fish of the session and it gave me a good warm up for what was to come with Snapper biting furiously just before dark!!
Thanks,
Ben. ;D

Hi Seapup,
The Boat was winched up today off the tyres after some trailer maintenance over the last 2 weekends.
Looking forward to next weekend.
I know the Hards are nth of the banks & I have been keen to get out there.
Where does the hards start & finish GPS marks, not after your marks just the area & I find the spots. The area is not marked on my Suncoast map.
I would appreciate any info & would go out of Mooloolaba.

Hi Mark,
We were fishing the middle area of the Hard on friday. Sounds like they were chewing their heads off along the whole of the Hards! I had mates up the top of the Hard cleaning up as well. When you heading out there next?
Cheers,
Ben. ;)

When you heading out there next?

I'll probably be up that way next time we have a good forecast. Its a long way to go if the weather is cr@p.

Cheers,

Mark

Hi Seapup
Some goddam nice fish there. We are planning to go to the hards next trip (hopefully this weekend coming weather permitting), just gotta workout where it is, ive been told it is an extension of the banks to the north does that sound right?
