SNAPPER BAG OUT WIDE OF NOOSA

HEADED OUT FOR A QUICK SESSION WITH MY MATE BLUE DOG YESTERDAY AFTERNOON AT 3PM. JIGGED OUR USUSAL LIVIES ON WAY OUT.. PLAN WAS TO HIT THE NORTH END OF THE BANKS. ONCE WE GOT OUT WIDE THE CONDITIONS WERE EPIC SO WE CHANGED COURSE AND HEADED MORE TO THE NORTH EAST. WE WERE CRUUISING BETWEEN 25 TO 30KNTS. AS SOON AS WE HIT OUR MARK A BIG SHOW WAS SITTING ON OUR BOMBY. WE ANCHORED UP AND STARTED BURLEYING.. SNAPPER TO 6KG STARTED COMING ABOARD FAST. MIXED AMONGST THEM WERE NICE SIZED PEARLYS.. WE ALSO GOT 1 COBIA. WE QUCIKLY BAGGED OUT ON KNOBBIES AND CALLED IT A NIGHT AS WE HAD TO GET BACK TO CROSS THE BAR BEFORE TIDE GOT TO LOW.. WE WERE DRIVING FOR LONGER THAN WE WERE FISHING! BUT IT WAS WORTH IT TO GET SOME NICE FISH... ;D ;D ;D

Some nice fish there :). I wanted to do the banks but 'she who must shop' decided that we should go whale watching of Nth Stradbroke instead :'(. Oh well, thats a trip in the bank ;D. And we never saw any whales either! :(

Great catch again Ben. :o :) We fished that area and maybe a little further north on Sunday morning. Fishing was consistent all morning, which was great as I thought it might have been better in the arvo & evening on the moon. Looks like he bite went on for the full 24 hour period when you add all the reports together.

Great effort for a short trip. Well done again

The bar crossing was sweat there was still plenty of water on it being a full moon high tide. i just follow my plotter back in and sit just behind the swell.

werent many boats there sat night.. only saw about 5.
with the livies i send 1 to the bottom and floatline the other with a light ball sinker. either one of them gets smoked! in summer i leave a livey out on the surface during the day as well and get big mahi mahi..
