Its that time of year again when the snapper are spawning, so with the good weather we geared up for a big exploritory run out of mooloolaba for two days. We headed north roughly 85 miles to try some country that greg (reefmaster) found some years ago and from there worked our way back to the banks.
The fish really turned it on with everything from reds, snapper, pearlies, aj's, cod, parrot etc etc on the chew. The trip was a great success with a number of new spots now locked away in the black book. The stand out fish for the trip were deffently the snapper with three fish exceeding the 9kg mark. The best landed went 9.55kg, but unfortunately the best snapper pulled the hooks not far from the boat after a mammoth battle, easly a 10 plus kg fish. Maybe next time...
Didnt use the camera much unfortunately but heres a few snapper...foxy

Those bigger snapper really are a magic fish to catch Foxy.
Just joined the 10kg club recently myself after years of persistance.
Can't wait for the next ;)

Happy Days

Quality snapper there Foxy!
Good on you for exploring and constantly finding new ground rather than just flogging the same spot over and over.
Sounds like you boys had a fun few days. :)
Now that I'm back, keep me in mind for a trip will ya!?!? ::)

Cheers,
Herby
