Hi guys,

I'm looking at heading offshore tomorrow out of Mooloolaba, banks area, could anyone let me know how the current was out there in the last 24 to 48 hours.

Any info would be appreciated.

Cheers!

I think an easy way to predict the amount of current is to look at the tide chart on the Seebreeze wave page.

If you have large tidal changes then expect heavier current, if it is low tidal change then expect a low current.

Example below with red lines showing what I would expect the higher current periods and the green lines showing the lower current periods.

Thanks for that guys, we ended up out at the banks, found the current no existant around the middle banks area during most of the day. Late arvo we ended up at the southern banks and the current was roaring. Had a good day with a few fish earlier.

Cheers! :)
