Yeah that was me. She's blue hull with white top. Love her lots. :)

Got the Mahi out on the shelf. We wandered NE from Hutchies for a while following a current line but the wind dropped and it was too good not to run out. Went out to 900ft and dropped lines in. Got hit twice - first was a bill but it got dropped. :-[

Try this;

http://www.buoyweather.com/wxnav5.jsp?region=glo&program=wxChartsD&zoom=10&latitude=-27&longitude=154&zone=0&grb=nww3&gs=ghrsst&tau=1&lat=-27.0&lon=154.0&units=m

But I think you need to subscribe to get it.

Great fish guys.Very nice rig liberty.We saw you a couple of weeks ago at hutchies.Could I ask you what sort of breed she is?

Southport Boatworks 26CC (8.0m) but Southport, North Carolina. #No end of confusion with her in SE Qld of course.

www.southport-boatworks.com

Southport is a recent company and specialises in fishing boats 26-32ft (currently only has 26 and 28CCs) but the people running the business have impressive credentials. #The hull is a new design from C Raymond Hunt & Associates naval architects - who interestingly did the original Bertram/Caribbean hulls 30 odd years ago.

Its currently the only one in Australia. #I ordered her off the net on a recommendation from TheHullTruth.com. #Seriously. #I then asked the factory if they were happy to ship me and then wired them all the money. #Either the bravest or the stupidest thing I ever did. # :o :o :o

Anyway has she met every expectation I had and then some. #It came really well fitted out for fishing and has every bell and whistle imaginable (including a vacuum-flush marine head with holding tank) and fit and finish are amazing. #And to cap it off the factory people were brilliant to deal with. #The pic is of her being unloaded from the truck ... My anxiety meter was off the scale by then! #::) ::) ::)

She came with twin Yammie F250As which at one stage were the only ones in the country. #Took some convincing at the local Yammie dealer for them to agree they were real F250s. #Apparently at the time all the ones in the showrooms were F225s with 250 cowlings .... #;D

The hull shape is amazing. #Its a continuously variable vee which is ultrasharp in the bow but continuously comes back to a 22deg deadrise. #In heavy seas, it relies on the trim tabs/engine tilt to get the sharp bits into the seas first so the back of the boat just sort of skips behind. #It also has side-chines which make it even more stable at rest. #I'm not game to get into the 1ft/2ft/3ft/4ft debate, but she can run into 15-20 at 28 knots (with everyone seated behind the console).

If anyone is seriously interested, PM me for more info. #I can rabbit on for hours ... #;)

Haven't got around to installing the temp sensor yet.

Not in a gamefishing club yet - need to figure out how to catch fish yet!

She holds 780 litres and uses 75 litres per hour total at 30 knots.

We're using a 6 up spread of Pakula skirts with a Witchdoctor teaser. Seem to have the pattern right - we got 6 hits on Saturday - one on each lure!

You've got a PM.
