G-DAY

Left the seaway at 4 am and headed out to the current at the fifties, put a spread of 4 5cougarsthanx sklirts out and one halco Trembler and headed south, got down past nine mile and with not much luck finding bait only having a few strikes but no hook ups decided to go in a bit closer and head back up. In about 40 fm foumd a great show of bait getting harrased by kingies so dropped a yakka down and before i knew it he bricked me went for another pass over and on again mid water he took me down but i managed to turn him round, got him to the boat, a gaff man would of been handy as i was stuffed.
Statred to head north along a another line in 50 meters alot more bait to be found, started to get hits by wahoo but no hook ups lost one skirt and destroyed another, swapped over to my favor Rapala one hit it an it took me across the others ,it was a bit difficult to work all the lures correctly and drive a tiller steer at the same time. Then one of the skirts went off , do i wind in all the other rods of just fight mim and hope for the best, a nice marlin was jumping all over ouy wide wich was good but i i got him closer he went straight across every one, got him to the boat and boated, then released after a few snaps, 1st ever marlin 1st boated solo I was pretty stoked. The boat was a mess lures and line every were stuffed so headed home.

Hi, Some effort that. The kingie would have given you some strap, the little black would have been a breeze compared to it ;D ;D ;D ;D. Great fishing from an open tinny m8 :) :).
Cheers and Merry Christmas

Bloody fantastic effort. There is some weird satisfaction you get when you nail good fish solo - and the best part is you got the pics to prove it.

As a generally solo tiller steer fisher, absolutely inspirational stuff Good as Gold, IMO.
Doesn't get much better than that, I'd reacon.
Fantastic work with the kingie, let alone the billfish!
Thanks for the inspiration!
Cheers!
