Ventured out the Seaway on 4 seperate occasions during my Chrissy break the 19/20/29 and 31st and had some cracker fish killing sessions

19th we headed for point lookout pulled some decent pearlies and snapper of the bottom then put the spread out and trolled towards the goldy landed a couple of nice hoo around 8 kg one of which hit the lure while i was checking its position smacked it hard and took of came right out of the water in the distance an awsome sight,a few missed strikes after that and it was all over
flat seas blue water hot sun great day out

20th went on a solo mission hit palmy hopeing for a mackeral or two but had no luck headed out to sea bout 25km and put the spread out eventually found the birdys the coral spawn and the action that goes with it landed 2 more nice hoo had fun pulling in the other 4 lines and teaser and driving the boat so some crucial time is lost, had solid hookups on 3 more fish that managed to break free by the time i finished doing the deckies job
still managed to get a photy even if they are a bit ordinary
flat seas blue water hot sun another great day on the high seas

29th #we headed south again to palmy slow trolled pillies for couple of hours landed 1 tailor got jack of waiting for the mackeral to show so we headed east more birdies and activity on the surface landed 2 hoo and black marlin my first black ever so we did the photo thing tagged it and got it back in the water pronto, it seemed a bit lifeless at first and i started shitting myself i really did not want to kill(have to eat)my first black but after a couple of mins of swimming beside the boat it started tail kicking "phew" kept him there a while to be sure and off it swam bloody great feeling
had many more strikes for the day
flat seas blue water hot sun black marlin yeah baby

31st we headed to the same zone again but gave palmy a miss F#K the spotties and what a way to finish the year in the first 2.5 hours only had 1 strike peeled a bit a line but that was it then came the yellow fin of around 7kg that fish had some fight in it landed it and slurried him up that action brought us back to life not long after there it was birdies baitfish we had found a patch of surface action and we were heading straight into it as we passed through it the meridian demon in shotgun went off grabbed the rig and bang a monster black came screaming out the water then it was off ive never had line peel of like that before anyway the reel jammed and the fish was lost before we could turn the boat and chase it the okuma convector just couldent hack the pace but anyway awsome strike awsome run awsome fun
before i could get that line back to the boat another reel started screaming dan grabbed it as i was clearing lines another 2 reels started screaming so while dan was busy with his fishy i checked both rods and hung onto the one i thought had the biggest fish on it not long after dan lost his and grabbed the other which was still bouncing away with a 5 kg hoo on the end after a good fight i finally got my fish to the boat hoo of around 10 kg
it dident take long for us to replace the chewed up leaders and get on track for another pass and nothing did the big loop and came back on the same heading as the previous action and bang dans onto another fish and then bang again im onto a fish double hookup dan got his to the boat in record time dolly of about 2kg and i had another good fight with a hoo of about 8kg
did a couple more passes hopeing to attract another black marlin with no luck
flat seas blue water hot sun some clouds awsome action on the high seas

TIGHT LINES AND HAPPY NEW YEAR

Awesome effort Jase, what a time you've been having.
Can't wait to get out there myself.
Got my first wahoo just after chrissy, had trouble getting the rod out of the holder. Don't they go.

Cheers for the report Jase.
