Yes - each day for the last fews days there have been flocks of birds working different patches of action from a point level with Alex bluff up towards Old Woman Island. Difficult to see exactly with binoc's because the weather and sea have been ugly - but they are there.

just off Pt Cartwright on New years eve there were heaps of mack tuna and a few frigates. Heaps of bait and heaps of fish. The mack tuna were around the 1 kg size.

We spent an hour chasing a school of tuna around the southern side of Old Woman Island yesterday. Lots of fun in the rough conditions. :o

Threw some slugs at them - managed 1 hookup - almost spooled me on 6kg before busting off.

Went back out today - not much happening. - no tuna, no squire, no sweetlip - just plenty of happy moments. - yay ::)

We'll try again tomorrow keep you posted.

Ok - went out today (Friday) Lots of slimey macks around Point Cartwright - picked a couple on slugs.

Went out to the outer gneerings - no one was catching anything (including us :()

Nice conditions though.

Spoke to a few boaties out there not one had caught anything worth keeping.

Still - it's better than working.
