First spotties 2007

At last a chance to get offshore with a break in the weather conditions. Hit the water at about 5:30am on Thursday off Mooloolaba and off to the Spottie grounds. A quick troll with halco's produced. Went a bit quiet and then with a troll with pillys produced. Ended up with seven spotties (not over bag limit as had D2 on board) with an average of 3.5kg. Should have had an extra but my indescretion with the net put one back. Bugger. The gut content showed that they were not feeding so one hopes that they will really get on the chew in the next week or two. Hope to have a fish this Saturday if weather permits.

Birds have been going apesh*t off Alex the past two mornings. Plenty of boats working them too.

Great feed! - pleased to see your regular deckie was back on board. Bet you were browned off putting one back .. However - he might be bigger nexty time around ;D
