You have picked a great place to fish. The banks and wide are really good at times. The current isn't a problem out there as it is usually light on. Current seems to run north / south. Moon phases are important as is wind direction. As ever, fish, Moon by day / Fish by Day. Moon by Night / Fish by night. Dawn and moreso dusk are top times on the banks. It's very hard to line up a good weekend with the right moon and winds, but don't overlook the closer grounds. Murphy's can fire as well as the inner Gneerings and places like Currimundi and Old Woman Island. Mackerel season is comming. You'll find spotties workin the area just out from the Shark nets off Mooloolaba beach on most days. I have sent you a private message with someones details that will help you more. ;D
