Good move!
NSW Fisheries are doing a far better job for rec anglers than
their Qld counterparts.

A good point Harro.
With the Turkey Shoot about to return to Lake Moogerah it is timely to push home the need for minimum water levels at our stocked lakes.
Others that are hurting badly from no water in SEQ are Atkinsons, Dyer, Clarendon.

Cheers,

Fitzy..

I recall only too well what happened at Coolamunda a coupla years back when water levels went down to piss puddle
proportions. Hundred and hundreds of prime brood fish Murray cod were taken out when word got out and the rednecks descended. The lake was the Mulwala of the north. It will recover that reputation if managed properly - but that will depend on Fisheries and Sunfish taking a greater interest and supporting the local stocking group. Events like the 2000 codfish free-for-all must never being allowed to happen again.
It's just another example of how badly Queensland fisheries
are lagging behind the other states. Too much of their available time and resources are taken up appeasing parts of a commercial industry having a far less dollar value than these neglected rec fishing sectors.
