I will be fishing in the noosa river in a few weeks and was wandering where the best place to try and get a few livies is - i know about the munna pt bridge and will try there but was also wandering about prawns ??? I want to try and get a few but not sure where. Hopefully i will get a few flatties, whitting, trevally, jacks, and the odd tailor or cod.

Cheers, lachie

Hi Lachie for prawns try johns landing, apparantly when they are on it becomes a bit of a community affair with everyone sharing their duty of the net, if you go to davos bait and tackle they sell a book titled fishing noosa with maps and species identification last year it was priced at $7.95 or maybe you can email them from here, hope this helps.

yeah thanks jaybee, I been to johnno's landing for a school camp and remember there was quite a few prawns and shrimps, we got enough for half an hours fish at night by using my hands. Caught a small jew up there as well. Maybe a little to far for me to go in my boat but will see what happens.

Thanks, Lachie
