Noosa River

When i was up in the noosa river last week i was fishing at opposite munna pt in the main channel catching a few bream casting onto the sandbank and had my over head with a live herring out in the midddle of the channel. After about 10 mins it bent over so i grabbed it out of the rod holder and the fish took 50 m of 20lb line out like it was only 6lb :o :o :o :o. I then increased the drag to full and it took off another 30m or so although it was harder for the fish. 2 boats then ran over it and that was the end of that. :'( >:( >:( I reckon it was a mackeral or a huge shark.

What do you guys reckon?

Golden id say, was that the same fish from your report.

Yeah mate it was the same thing. It'd be a pretty big golden then ehh? It swam in a strait line away from me about 2- 4 m below the surface.

Mate they go as hard as anything ive hooked i reckon, they average about 7 kilos usually, real bad luck a boat cut it off, busy there though.

It was about 7:30 or 8:00 in the morning too! bloody boats everywhere :o :o. Good fun while it lasted any way ;)
