Quote from DPI news release:
"Mr Higgs said estimates of just how important interstate and international anglers were to Queensland would soon be available as part of the National Recreational and Indigenous Fishing Survey (NRIFS) conducted in 2001."

Crikey, it sure takes time for results to be released ay. If anecdotal evidence is any indication, the survey figures will be mind-blowing.

Maybe that light on the horizon is getting brighter & recreational fishing will no longer be treated as the poor country cousin - we can but hope.
