Since the family dog died a couple of years ago, I have had a 10kg bag of dry dog food siting in the garage taking up floor space..

Does anyone know if dry dog food is any good as berley, please?

Ron Culcutts Lowrance book of Sonar and GPS, has a chapter where they threw dog food over the side and they have reading from the sounder where the fish came up off the bottom in a feeding frenzy.
cheers.

HI,
Mate anything thats gets a scented trail going works, just had some appertisers (cubed scraps) once the trails is going, I buy 20kg of pellets at a time, and its used just for the attractor, but always add some cubes every so often, and thats usually tough baits, so it keeps the pickers amused a lot long, which makes the bigger fish intrigued and they usually come and have a look.

Just be sure to mix the dry dog food with some liquid, sand fish scraps etc before dispersing otherwise it will float away from the area before sinking...learnt by experience. :o...depends on how fast the current is running also.
