Anyone with opinions (good or bad), or better yet experience with Tica spinning reels. I'm looking for a small quality reel (up to $200) without going to their $600 model. Are they serviced, supported well by dealers and as good as an equivalent Penn or Shimano?
thanks
Wayne

I would have to say, stick with Shimano, Penn and Okuma. Say no more........... :-X

I have a Tica camry 4500sp...
Fantastic reel with no negatives about it as of yet...
Brought in mack tunas on it, has a high speed 6.3:1 and 9 ball bearings very smooth drag... excellent reel.
Also have a Tica Caiman baitcaster 12 bearing have only used it 2 times but seems perfect to me ... just need something decent to test it on...

I think Webby mentioned that he uses a Tica Sportera which is the Baitrunners in the Tica Range... he might have other comments on them..

Cheers adam

I have the Sportera baitrunner, and apart from some minor corosion around the crank, it has been an excellent performer. I have used it for spotty Mac outside and spinning for tailor off the rocks. I am very happy with it - but it is no where near as strong as my Baitrunner 4500. I consider it a very good reel for the price I paid.

G'day real.
Just bought a Tica Libra SA2500 and am very happy with it.
It didn't come with a spare spool, but with 10 ball bearings and a drag comparable to the Penn Spinfishers (not many reels come close), the plus's outweigh the minuses.

Much better bang for buck when compared to Shimano in my opinion.
Do a search for a review on it on the web. I did before I bought it, but didn't keep the URL.

Cheers, Slates

I bought myself a Tica GP3500H on saturday. Looks good and feels great to handle. Hope it performs as well. Came with spare reel, carry bag and a 3 yr warranty for under $100.
Wifey says it had better catch me some fish.
