Barometer & moon scycles

Hello, can anyone point me in the right directions to find info on when to go fishing when the barometer and moon are at certain positions. I know there is a rule of thumb that most use, but i would like to read up on the the actual way they came to decide on a certain method of calculation. And see how it applies to tropical NW W.A
Any ideas. ? ;)
