The boat ramp at Balgal Beach (and a lot of others up this way) can't be used for open water access by most boats with a tide of less than 1.5m. So I've got this great idea of putting an interactive tide chart on the club's web site so we can see what tide we have at any time of a nominated day.

One snag: I don't know how to get the readings. I'd like to offer a service like the picture below. Has anyone tried to do something like this?

Hi

Nugget and I set a similar thing up on his site
http://www.ausfish.com.au/nugget/predictions.htm

http://www.ausfish.com.au/nugget/tides/tide.swf

You need to get the info from Flinders Uni http://www.ntf.flinders.edu.au/TEXT/TIDES/tides.html or from your local tide charts/books then it is just a matter of how you want it displayed.

If you need a hand feel free to send me a private massage.

Steve (I can't see how I can send you a private message),

We have the Flinders Uni link on the web site. This only shows the top and bottom of the tide. However, what I'm after is the graphical presentation as per my example above so we can predict when there is enough water to get over the rock shelf at Balgal. There is some good PC software available at http://www.mdr.co.nz which has all the features I need except I don't know how to get the display onto the web site - nor am I licenced for this.

If you and Nugget have worked out how it's done, please let me know.

Thanks Bungie, I got onto this site a couple of weeks ago. A great product for a PC but I don't think it's designed to work interactively on a web site.
