Where To fish in Airlie beach

I'm hoping some one might be able to shed some light on land base fishing in or around Airlie Beach, I have a 4 y.o boy that wants to go fishing when we get there but I have no idea of what is up there or where to fish, also what rods to take, my boat will be staying at home, thats why I need land base spots jetty's , beach's any thing really where we may catch a feed.
