I'm heading to Fraser soon. Any tips on fishing options there? Unfortunately I don't have any beach fishing gear, but I'll try to get some.

Jockey, you cant go past the surf fishin at fraser, i'd beg steal or borrow a surf rod to take with me, some pillies, some worms/pipies and a few lasers should keep u in business.

Thanks for all the info :)

I got most of that gear lined up, except we won't have enough surf rods for everyone. Looks like we'll be spending most of the time on the inland side feeding the mozzies anyway.

Jockey,
Don't worry about the mozzies, its the bloody sand flies on the inland side you have to worry about. I got out of the car and stood around for all of about 10 minutes and then put on all the rid etc etc. Already got nailed about 100 times in that 10 minutes.
So don't forget the bloody aeroguard!!!

What's the deal with bag limits. If I go for three days can I multiply my bag limit by 3? Can I fillet the fish when I get back to camp each day and does that stop fisheries from identifying the fish? Is the bag limit for tailor doubled on Fraser?

Look here for regulations.
http://www.dpi.qld.gov.au/fishweb/11416.html.
For surf fishing look for a gutter, ie deep close to shore wave breaking out a bit further.
