In case anyone didn't notice I was trying to figure out why the two polls on an RFL for QLD had different results. If anyone was prompted to vote by someone, voted differently in the two polls, only voted in one poll or knows why the results differed I'd be interested to hear. So far I have only been able to guess because no-one has come forward with any such information. The two polls I am referring to are linked below.

first vote was a donkey vote and the second was a jockey vote (chook vote) :P

handful of reasons I suspect.

1. More time to evaluate how the RFL in other states have panned out. Ie Victoria.

2. GBR closures have annoyed people, and they don't feel like being taxed not fish their favourite spots.

3. difference in interpretation. Its quite possible one person could vote one way or the other and still have exactly the same view point. "I support the theory of a RFL so YES. However I don't support it in practice because it'll get screwed over so NO."

Point 1 has a lot to do with point 3.

I am still amazed as to how many are in favour of a new tax. Can anyone give me an instance of when a new tax has improved any situation? The think the silence will answer that one.
