I was wondering what you guys do online apart from fishing related things?
I myself like playing a role playing game called sacred. Over the years I played another RPG called Diablo2. Also played a golf sim called Links.
I am not a big gamer but do enjoy a cpl hours a day playing Sacred.
Cheers

Hi Les.

being an Old Fart, I'd never touched a computer up until 5 yrs ago. Got one simply t type up[ and research assignments for my Wife's Grad Dip in Health promotion and got hooked.

Used it mainly for research into autism and reading newgroups related to autism and fostering.

Then I realised that there was lots of music out there. (for free) and started collecting Golden Oldies of songs that I'd remembered from my childhood (in the 50's), such as Frankie Laine, Bobby Darrin, Connie Francis and stuff from the "flower power" period. Then I started collecting cover versions of songs written by Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, and Van Morrison........nice lyrics.....shame about the voices :-)

Gave the kids my old 'puter to play The Sims and Age of Empires and now use my "newie" mainly to listen to music and post and read here. I hope to learn as much as I can about the Queensland fishing scene. I'm in the process of scanning all my old photos into the 'puter and hope to eventually be fluent in using Photoshop to it's full capabilities.

cheers

other than for work purposes, my time online is spent doing all manner of things, fishing related, ebay, counterstrike (i co-admin the 12 odd optus cs servers), irc, email, general surfing, etc etc.

Hi, another old fart who is not big in the world of computers, almost dumb even. Read a bit of fun and learn a bit from this site. Have a read most days. Writing is a bit of a hobby and it's great to have a type writer with a memory. Games? I do play spider solitair sometimes. Trying to play it with four decks of cards is a real brain twister and demands much concentration. Two decks is easier but still no pushover. Noel

I log in and out of this site upwards of 8 times a day. I have my email program set so it downloads my mail every minute. I chat to uni and other friends on MSN Messenger. I check out my list of funny sites that are updated daily for funny pics and reads. I check out all the Torana sites and see what Toranas are for sale around the place. I study Russian by checking out Russian websites and trying to translate them.

Basically, that's it. Somehow or another though, I manage to spend about 9 hours a day on a computer, whether it be at home, uni or a combination of both. Usually the later. I guess you could say I'm a bit of a computer person.

I sell a lot of product in the UK & US so most of my time online keeping an eye on the market and if any new players pop up I also built our website so you spend a lot of time submitting your site. and yes buying fishing, sailing and golf gear.

I just spent 2 days removing a heap of spybots virus's and ad ware from my computer and the registry .... caused from my son visiting websites with usually porn and so on in them.

I dont like the thought of somone else getting into my computer and planting a bot in there to translate my internet browsing behaviour so they can sell that info to some advetising mob. I removed some 400 files and 1200 registry entries that was not anything to do with what I myself installed. If anyone is worried about what is sitting on their hard drive and wants to do something about it, PM me and i will give you the names of 3 very good programs.
cheers

Upgraded it a few times........550MHz 8 gig with 512 Ram if I remember rightly. Apart from Windows and Office, theres only those two games on it..........can't get on it to check as the kids are playing Age of Empires atm :-)

Got the cracks so they don't even have to use the CD's (copies)

i like nasa sites, ebay, chatrooms, most anything to do with fishing, also being a newbie to puters i like to try & upgrade my skills. Also found a good site that can tell you how well your PC is, going,PCWorld.com,plenty of info, also learing to type from 20 letters a min to 20 words a min is something i never thought would happen, then again i may be exaggerating too,it depends on the size of them,im good with if and buts ;D

i work as a architectural drafstman

i stayed back at work one night and had a cruise around ausfish for a while then i had a quick look at some celebrities in bikin's and there site must have saved a cookie on my computer

well the next day i had a client with me and we were going through his plans on the computer and the site from the night before popped up from no where with a girl standing on all fours "well you get the idea"
it was the most embarising thing ever

but my client sorta just cracked up laughing
