Gday,I was just wondering how someone can extend time on a NO RESERVE auction, is that fair? Shouldn't the highest bidder win when auction ends. To be allowed to extend time must mean it has a reserve price?? Can anyone enlighten me ;D.

Bruce,

Look here --> http://www.ausfish.com.au/cgi-ausfish/board/YaBB.cgi?board=Auction;action=display;num=10539289 40

All of the rules are explained. Extension of the auction time is allowed irrespective of whether ot not the item has a reserve price.

Thats right, and the auction doesnt end until it is no longer extended.

Perhaps Ausfish could comment on any auction extension limits that might apply?

It seems to me that it is commonsense and in the spirit of fair play to limit the time an auction can be extended by as well as the number of times it can be extended. Otherwise, an auction could ostensibly go on forever.

I have to agree with Bruce,being able to extend a no reserve auction is a bodgie set up.

Allow it to be extended once only.

Then all are happy.
