So I finally got the new $18,000 boat. Went to the boat ramp and took off. Spent the next four hours running around trying different places. Bugga all bites.
Time to go home... so back to the boat ramp.
Pulled up and there were people everywhere fishing... from the ramp. Walked past one kid and looked in his bucket to see several whiting and a nice size flathead...
The irony of it all...................

hi polydriver
for me mate, its not so much the fish i catch but the pleasure i get from being out on the water, sometimes even have it all to my self. like you mention, some times if fishing with restriction (landbased) you work a lot harder for your fish( i used to walk 4hrs to a landbased spot to fish), these days i just jump in the boat, had a lotta boats over the years, must mean in realality, i am a lazy bugger LOL
cheers

Blaze is so right....
Doesn't matter how many fish ya catch if anything.. its the joy of being out there on the water and having fun. I always have my brother with me and its so rewarding teaching a 14 year old how to set an anchor, rig his line, and even drive the boat*
*Driving of the boat is only done under strict supervision with the kill switch lanyard around my arm read for any drama.

If I catch, I catch. If I don't, I still have fun. Not much gets better than that. Enjoy Polydriver, as I'm sure you will.

Too true mate. My biggest fish of the long weekend were caught in the bloody castnet from the beach! Why was I castnetting? For bait of course. Did I get the bait I wanted? Did I bloody hell :-)
cheers

I know exactly how you feel Polydriver, I think I am running around $300 per kilo for fillets at the moment. And now I'm looking into buying a bigger boat. Oh well, as long as I can get away from the Minister for War and Finance, and the Psycho Midgets for some peace and quiet.
