Does fuel age as a matter of course, or does it just age when it is mixed with oil?

fuel ages with or without oil
thwe older the fuel the lower the octane which means that the motor would ping and carry on

i saw this problem in a magazine a while back. from memory one suggestion was to put it in a tub in the back yard and let it evaporate.

If you have one near you, contact an oil refinery, they may take it off your hands.

They usually have a slops tank for old fuel & oils. #the contents are re-refined.

Oil and Fuel Salvaging Qld Ph(07)38681121 we use them quiet regualarly when operators fill diesel tanks with large quantities of unleaded fuel don't know and exact cost but worth a try if you want to get rid of it otherwise it's a good degreaser for parts washing(may attack some plastics) good luck

Geez mate,
Dont waste it. Use it up in any older vehicle the bit of oil wont hurt anytthing.Just add 20 l or so every tank full .Id use it in my boat but im at Sunny Coast.

Caltex told me they do not recomend keeping fuel longer than six months. I'am told you can buy Fuel stabaliser . but beleve me stale fuel is evil stuff.. I it gets a trhinner smell its rat dung
