After seeing the photos by nofrills, i thought id show a few photos taken by my great uncle who has lived at Mooloolaba for over 70yrs cept when he was carted off to be a Japanese prisoner of war
anyways.. here they are

looks to me like pincushion island is on the north shore side in that pic from alex headland.
bloody interesting tim... if only the fishing could be as good as it was back then :(

shows the mouth really does change.. ALOT

Great pics Tim.
I grew up at Caloundra and I can't believe how much sand has moved around the bar area in 30 years.
