High Island mackeral NQ

Loking to take a couple of N.S.W blokes fishing on the weekend and thought ide head up to babinda. Just wondering if anyone nows if the mackrel are still biting out at high island

A few good Macs have been taken around High Island lately but from what I heard its starting to slow up with only a couple being caught each trip. Haven't been out there chasing them myself so its only what I've heard.

The oldies lives in Miriwinni, the old man has had a great year on the spanish this year but they have tapered off around high in the last few weeks. You will still get the odd stragler or two this time of the year around High, if you have time try the Franklands and the reef if the weathers good. Cheers Isaac.
