Went jack fishing the other night and caught some stonkas. However I found when I let out heaps of burley they went off the bite and all we could catch were bream and grunter (by products). It seems that we had brought too many of these fish out and they scared away all the jacks.
Has anyone had this problem before?

I am surprised anything hangs around your berley devocean. I have smelled your berley bag and lost conciousness for a brief moment.., and I was fishing 6 creeks away from you.

Having watched them reacting to berley in clear water the Jacks don't actually go "off the bite" it is just that bream (in particular) are much less wary than the jacks and will beat them to a bait every time and the berley seems to bring bream from everywhere.
