sandies - any weed bank basically, if it has a drain to water deep enough you can't make out the bottom even better - they are like fleas at times

around the Blue Hole area to name a landmark

Does anyone know how the crabbing is up towards the northern end eg Bulwer? We are thinking of doing an overnighter around that area and don't know if it is better to drop some pots back towards the mainland or further out towards Moreton.
By the way I have caught good sandies out deeper around the sandhills area.

cheers Neil

Out from Yellow patch in 40 foot of water you will fill your nets with spanners if ya go for them.

cheers
Les

PS take some spare replacement nets, the buggers smash em a bit.

We tried 20 foot and only got small spanners, 30 foot we got bigger, but at 40 foot they were all bigger again. My mate only trys at 100 foot for spanners. He says only the decent ones are at 100 foot, but he is a professional crabber I spose.
