Hi There, I have been an avid reader of Ausfish for sometime and decided to finally join . I mainly fish the beaches from Wooyung to the North Wall of Brunswick Heads and as you can see by my member name I target the almighty Jewie when conditions prevail. My three (in order) of preference for fishing are:
1. Catching Jewies
2. Pulling beachworms, especially stumpy's
3. Catching big dart on light line

Best regards and I hope to be an active member in the future.

Thanks again for the welcome guys.Nice fish Nugget.
I am going to invest in a small digital camera shortly to get those "just caught" photo's that show how truly magnificent the Jewie is when just landed.
Love the beach,There's nothing nicer than a warm summer, moonlit night, watching the falling stars and catching fish. Not too much moonlight though.
For big dart, light line to get right out he back and Metho'd worms with a dash of Tuna Oil when freezing does the trick.

Sorry forgot the Grubs Sportfish_5. Best advice is that you do not have to rush things. Bait bag needs to smell, really smell and use a pippy to entice the worm up.
Slimey's are easier than stumpy's so start on these first. This weekend would be good for learners as there is a low tide around dark or thereafter. The worms will "work" better for you when the sun is going down say 5-7pm,or if it cloudy.
Once you have found the worm and he has risen to grab the pippi I push the pippi into the worm so he has to arch and rise over the pippi.
Next I use my two fingers to gently push around him, sometimes you can touch them and they will not mind as they are too busy feeding. With slimeys you can usually grab them and lift and they will come out easily. Never grab and stop lifting as they will have a chance to grab hold and the result will be a lost worm or head only.
With stumpy's it is the same but because of their size and strength I usually go a little bit deeper into the sand with my fingers and grab them when they rise.
Having said this conditions change and sometimes they are spooked and will not work for you, so keep trying.
Be soft walking on the sand and if its windy they will be harder to get.
I love catching big stumpy's as much as Jewies.
Hope this helps.

da,

are you a wiry, blond fella who won a dart prize at the straddie classic a few years back, cursing the $1500 fish for flogging ya jewie worm ?

A few words & phrases ring a bell.

Hi Chris,
I wish I was, lets try dak hair (receding), pleasently proportioned in the waist area
but I have a nice smile.
Love your Chrissie Jew.
I have read many of your posts in the past and looks like you may of done some Tailor fishing around Pottsville. Is this so?
Hope to catch up with you someday and have a chat.
