Myself & a few others are heading over to Moreton Island on 10 Jan for a week of fishing off the beach.

We don't care what fish we catch, as long as we catch something. Has anyone got some ideas on where, when, what bait etc

thanks

what section of the island are you camping at? The wrecks, bulwer, kooringal? Do you have a 4wd? more info would probably be handy for giving you a bit more accurate advice. Off the western beach there is normally a few flathead if you throw a bait or lure in the right place, just look for structure and changes in the water and fish the edges, preferably as the tide is ebbing. Eastern beach the go is normally dart, whiting and the like, maybe a tailor or two if you're lucky. You can get worms and stuff from the shops on the island, or if you look in the tyre marks at low tide you'll see the signs of pipis, just dig as many as you need. Good luck mate, and let us know how you go. It's a beautiful part of the world.
