Can I ask why people get Bigpond? Is it strictly due to their advertising?
Because if you actually compare Bigpond's plans to any rival ISP like Netspace, Westnet, Internode or iiNet then Bigpond are a mile behind in terms of value. Even Optus beats Bigpond.

At 256k you're paying Telstra $20 per month more than the equivalent Netspace plan.
At 512k Westnet offers 14Gb of data more, for $20 per month less.
At 1500k iiNet also offer 14Gb of data more, for $20 per month less.

Netspace, iiNet and Westnet are 3 quality ISPs too. Like I said if you look into it there is no reason to choose Bigpond and it stuns me that the majority of the country do. I'm lost as to why people strive to save $20 or $30 bucks on a reel but throw away money by choosing Bigpond.
