If you want to use them for markers, take the lid off and make sure the inside is thoroughly dry, then spray the inside with either fluoro green or orange marking out spray (the stuff used for marking the ground for building/landscaping) and put the lid back on.

I use this for redclaw traps, lets all of the share farmers find them more easily. #>:( >:( >:( Bloody share farmers.

Thankyou linesman ,thank you ballboys [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]

As to my Q of do you buy 3L milkbottles....you do!!

And that's great [smiley=2thumbsup.gif]
(assumed the rest of ya, just buy 2L or some other size.)

So the majority is in favour of 3L milk-bottles ,for crabpot-use :)

Do the math's, the way a politician does it Gazza ;D

I.E. .....of 6475 members only 11 voted "no"

So that's a resounding 99.83% in favour of 3litre milk bottles ;D ;D

I recall a few months ago (maybe 6) that they did a blitz in the southern bay and confiscated a heap of pots. Are the 3 litre bottles 150mm in every direction? Probably not if they fit into the average fridge door. I was using 2 litre bottles for a while till I realised they were illegal.

Ferrel or otherwise, jut be careful that you do not innocently get done.

By the way, I would personally prefer these than some of those weed ridden legal floats that you cannot see. Collected one around my prop once so not very impressed.

The biggest draw back is that they are not tough enough and you are very likely to loose your pot. A couple of bucks buys a foam float.

Not tough enough for the regular crabr, but tough enough for the irregular nipper

150mm foam floats cost a little more ;)

Agree on UV non-toughness with 3L milkbottles i.e. replace with new ones each time ;) (or within a week or two)

p.s. 150mm foam is "only" 1.77L :)

13-01-2005, 06:32 PM
glug-glug can't do that with foam

14-01-2005, 11:45 AM
Can-do with 3L milkbottles :)

14-01-2005, 11:56 AM
acceptablly evil :-/

But "you" wouldn't use them....i think that's fair ,as it's a "CHOICE" thing ,the way it should be....

p.s. Jennies ,as a choice thing ,a lot of "my farts don't stink" or "wouldn't keep a bream under 35cms" people....
wouldn't keep a Jennie ,or even know how to pick up a crab :-X

Their choice....and respect...to their "choice"

onlt time i like to use the good old milk bottles is at night as then i can stick a cylume stick in them and they are easyer to see than any other floats

how ever i hate them in the day time as they are almost invisable untill your ontop of them
much prefure my orange painted foam floats then

14-01-2005, 02:11 PM
your joking....buy a spottie ;)
a 100mm above calmwater "foam" float ,must be worse ,given your circumstance of "needing" a light-stick....or what would you do to a "night-time foam float" ,if that was your only "CHOICE"
