OK, Many of us who go fishing offshore try to gather as much information as possible about the weather and conditions, before our trips. ( well, some do ! ).

So what I am asking here is for people to post #their info site. #That is, where do you got to get the information you require ?

Radio Updates, #VMR, #web sites, #BoM by phone, TV reports, #mates ?

if you use a web site, can you post the URL, so that we can all have a look and maybe share the info.

Here is a starter,

I use Weather zone, can be found here: http://www.weatherzone.com.au/

Gives actuals and forecasts. Also look at BoM occasionally.

I look over the trends before I go, I check the actual recordings, and look outside. I also check the chop in the harbour, but I find most times that when I actually get to the outer harbour, it is a rough as guts.
I'm interested to see how other go with this and what others use as their 'telltales' before going out.

I get an extremely rough idea from BOM.
Check the wind speed at the offshore islands, and have a good look!
If my predictions are wrong..........I,m right up the creek, chasing jacks instead of trout.

and
for sea temps and currents

but i also like the weather channle on austar/foxtel
intreative mean i can get my loacal weather and forcasts of it and then you can't go past asking good old VMR for any updates or changes
also i find sticking my head out the window to the ramp is also a good one ;D

I use the Bureau of Meteorology website and Brownies Coastwatch website. I also watch Brownie at the end of the Channell 7 News on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.

If i can't get to a computer or a television, Maritime Safety have a great phone service where they give a recorded reading of the weather forecast which is updated regularly. The phone number is 1300 360 428.

Have a coconut tree right at ther front of my verandah and it tells me all I need to know about wind direction and strength and if I need to really check I will drive 2 minutes down the road to the ramp

I gotta tell ya all that here in Gladstone it doesnt matter where we get the weather report from it is nearly always wrong. If it says stay home the wind is gonna be crap, we go out cause you can guarantee that it will be a bloody glorious day. If it says the day will be fine, it will rain. If it says the wind will be -10 knots just double it and stay in bloody bed. I know corry and jd will back me up on this.
