Fishing in Weipa

Hi guys,hoping to get some ideas about fishing in Weipa from someone who knows the area. Techniques,Locations and any info would be greatly appreciated. Got a leave pass from the boss lady for April 26th to 1st May. Once a lifetime oppurtunity,and want to go hard before I go home. Thanks

Wenlock River is a good start. Very big system but is full of barra. Best time to go is straight after the wet 1st May I have always left. Fish deep holes in the river for jew and stuff and lure with deep diving lures at low tide for barra. Look for shade.

Take lots of fuel with you (my old man does about 40 mile a day) beer is very expensive, and if you tow a trailer be ready to fix it.
