Took a day off and went for a stroll around the boat show. They had everything there from inflatables up to some huge motor yachts. The crowds early were moderate but by mid afternoon it was getting quite crowded. I would hate to see what it will be like on the weekend. If you are going, make sure drink and eat before you go there...$7.50 for a carton of chips and a coke.

i thought Pin Head took those shots?
There was an article in today's paper about a gold Coast propert developer who has just purchased a new Sunseeker for $2m. People are walking through it this weekend, if i had that kind of money to spend, i certainly wouldn't want the general public putting their greasy mits all over it!

Cheers,
Hutcho

in my opinion it was a waste of time and money went to try and get a DEAL but guess what all show prices were the same as everyday prices for outboards in 200hp range. i did see a couple of ugly old salts wondering around today NUGGET and MONO ::)
i wont be back to the next ones unless i have a few spare millions to part with

cheers

I just realised what I typed..so before all the Ausfish wits chime in...it is inflatable boats.

(I won't mention names as to the wits ( on second thoughts I will) but I reckon Jeff, Brian and Phill could be quick off the mark on that one)

Pinhead - see all those bream near where you walked down near the Mustang boats ? :P :P :P :P

Hundreds of em and they were snodgers :o :o Should always follow the old mans advice - never leave home without some rubber in your wallet - these days that means soft plastics and some line ::)

Show was OK - and those seadoo girls (they were very tanned) :P - also noticed that Northside marine no longer sell Noble Supavees --- nobles goin direct here in Brisbane. 8)

Cheers

Spent some time there today and thoroughly enjoyed it. Different to the Brisbane Show as it caters a lot for toys for rich boys. I'll be back.

Hey Guys,

When you turn up to the new 50' Riv in stubbies, thongs and drinking xxxx, theres no way your ever gunna get aboard that boat! In fact, i wouldnt even let you aboard my little ship if you drunk that crap!

I enjoyed the show immensly, was there every day, loved the boats, the sights and the people.

This was my favourite discovery at the show. 36 Foot, twin 4 banger 225's, outriggers, big cockpit, big centre console with head and shower, and nice cuddy cab forward as well. I have fallen in love again.

What do you guys think of her?

Regards

Darren

That must be what they call journalistic license Darren ???

Didnt have a beer all day - we were dressed well and looking at the Riverias was no problem if you could be bothered - too many guys down there with big gold chains for me ;D ;D

It was a good show -dont think I would spend three days there but its not my job to do that and @ for $20 a day I would rather put the $40 into fuel and tackle and go fishin.

I saw that boat too - was it an import ? Nice rig but it aint a Contender or a Regulator either of which I would love to own.

Cheers

Bloody hell Webby..the loo is inside. the nice shiny rails are the spew rail for those that have had too many cans of rum n coke. Gotta hang on to something when distributing the gut burley.

My eyes nearly popped out too when I first caught glimpse of those Seadoo girls from a distance, however, when I was standing right up close and personal to them I didn't find them to be as stunning as originally thought. A bit too 'fake tanned' for my liking. I prefer more natural girls.

Don't get me wrong - I'd be first in line if they offered a free date - but I thought that there were many other hotter girls there working on the boat displays, just dressed a bit more classy in my opinion.

I can post a pic of the Seadoo girls up as soon as I get around to transferring them to my home #pc if anybody else is interested.... show of hands? #;)

some of those girls were young enough to be my daughter,in fact my daughter asked them why there pants were so tight that'camel toes'were on display for all to see. yes the tinny and tackle show it aint. we have never seen so much sleaze together at once on the gold coast outside the casino

geez catch..for a newcomer here you sure are making some splashes to start with...haven't you heard of the saying..sex sells...and it is true..as for the sleaze..you can see women with far less on at most beaches on any summer's day...it sure beat some of the bloody salesmen that were there.

Noticed there was a plethora of imported boats in the range I was interested in (ie $30k-say $100k fishing boats). I was a bit disappointed that there were not more Aussie boats on display. I did enjoy seeing all the ancillaries and chandlery displays in the marquees though. I've seen it now so won't worry in the future. I will though go to the boat show in Sept.

:) :)

Hey Greg,

Had a bit of tongue in cheek when i posted that, so i didnt mean to offend. Apologies if I did.

I personally didnt even look at the bigger boats on the water, if i cant afford it theres no point in looking.

The White Cap 24 didn't look too bad either for something new.

The "Al Dhaen" was an import from the oil rich countries. The finish was a bit ordinary in parts, but i just love the design. Still, its about 10 foot too big for my uses. Havn't seen the others in person so cant comment, but would love to some day.

The show was very much dominated by imports, its so sad that the aussie boats cant come anywhere near them on the price or quality. The amount of times over the weekend I heard how good american xx over there was so much better and cheaper than the aussie yy next door, was amazing. As usual, these things go in cycles, but hopefully they will hang around long enough to bring down the prices of the aussie product.

Feedback from the exhibitors was that the new GC show will be bigger than is expected, and aimed at the smaller boat market also, so bring it on.

Bring on the piccies of the girls I say, didn't see enough of them over the weekend!

Regards
Darren
