Anyone fished Karumba area?

Am planning a 3 week trip to Karumba next year. Would welcome any knowledge that you guys can impart regarding this area.

I had a mate come back from there recently and said there were about 1 million tinnies all over the water. Bugger all fish were caught. Suggested going further north to Smithburn or Vandemons. Stay away from Victorian Tinnie Stampede. Mick
