is there a long range marine forecast anywhere on the net. I know that it will be a guess but it would be a better guess than my own.
thanks

How long range are you looking for. There's a 7 day outlook here http://www.seabreeze.com.au/maps/qld.asp

Just realised you are in Mackay. That probably wont help you. If you pay membership buoyweather will give a 7 day outlook for your region http://buoyweather.com/

weatherzone.com.au or weatherunderground.com (w/u uses private weatherstations as well as the standard airports etc to get current info and trends and gives a 10 day forecast that is usually pretty acurate). I use breakingwind.com.au to keep me up to date with 1/2hourly to hourly updates while I'm on the water by SMS (if I'm staying in range). And I look at the AIMS reef weather stations if I'm going wide before I go. I also find it handy to look at the previous 72 hours on bom to see the recent trends the night before.

from my experience, they all struggle with anything over 3 or 4 days.
