Giant cuttlefish squid!!!

found this washed up in shark bay, someone got at it with a knife, i am guessing for some bait or maybe they were intending to have some calamari :o

Not a bad size but not unusual I have seen a few this size while diving they are really cute and very intelligent . I even had one follow me to steal fish I had speared.

They are an incredible creature, we caught one at wide caloundra that was probably a bit bigger than that one looks. We pulled it up on the deck and watched as it changed colours in an instant ... awsome!

yeh had a mate get one a fair bit bigger than that also a few mounths ago while fishing the shelf he put the tape over it for a rought meausurement and it was over the meter mart without it's two long tentacal out :o

Tentacles fer bait, jacket taken off n cleaned and the rest can be stuffed with rice cooked in its own ink n baked... ;)Not a bad dish either :)..

Saw one at a seahorse farm in tassie. Watched it eat a crab then spit out the nippers and legs. Changed colours about 3 times.
