Andrew “ET” Ettingshausen and Gary Howard (Master of Ceremonies) will appear at the inaugural Gold Coast Boat & Outdoor Adventure Show, presented by Waeco, on the Fishing Experience Stage on Sunday 10 July. The Show will represent more than 97 percent of the 187,000 craft registered in the Queensland in the year to last September. “From tinnies to luxury cruisers, ski boats to pontoon boats, kayaks to jetskis – if it’s under 10 metres and it floats then it’s going to be on show at the Gold Coast Boat & Outdoor Adventure Show,” said organiser Mark Harvey of Showtime Events.
Other attractions will include the Supertank Fishing Show, featuring a 14,000 litre tank stocked with live fish, and the Australian Casting Championships.

GOLD COAST TO HOST ‘ULTIMATE’ LIFESTYLE SHOW
FOR BOATING, FISHING & OUTDOOR ENTHUSIASTS

The Gold Coast is to get a major new boat and outdoor show in 2005, bringing together Australia’s most popular leisure playground and a booming regional marine industry.

The Gold Coast Boat & Outdoor Adventure Show will be be staged on 22-24 July at the all-new $120 million Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre.

It will target owners and buyers of boats under 10 metres, who represent more than 97 percent on the 187,000 craft registered in Queensland in the year to September 2004.

Dry-land displays of hundreds of new boats will be complemented by the latest in marine electronics and accessories, fishing tackle, holiday opportunities and camping equipment.

Major entertainment attractions will include the Supertank Fishing Show, Australian Casting Championships and the Fishing Experience Stage, offering free advice to show visitors from some of the country’s leading boat and fishing experts.

“This will be the ultimate recreational lifestyle event in Queensland and northern New South Wales,” said organiser Mark Harvey of Showtime Events.

“The under 10 metre market, which represents the big majority of Queensland boat registrations, is not being catered for by any show on the Gold Coast or in the surrounding regions.

“The Gold Coast is the sixth-largest city in Australia. It’s a boating paradise with more than 260 navigable waterways - more canals than Venice - and convenient access to the Pacific Ocean for deep-sea fishing.

“There’s a massive audience of boating, fishing and outdoor enthusiasts in easy driving reach of the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

“The show will bring them together not only with south-east Queensland’s renowned boat manufacturers, but also with suppliers of all sorts of related products from around Australia.”

The Gold Coast Boat & Outdoor Adventure Show is being organised by Mark Harvey of Showtime Events, who is also the organiser of the hugely successful Townsville and Cairns Boat & Outdoor Adventure Shows.

Showtime Events is an Australian-owned exhibition management company specialising in the production of major consumer exhibitions. It boasts an impressive portfolio of events including the Queensland Motorcycle Show and Summer Home Show. Its team of professionals has staged more than 170 major consumer shows since 1993.
