Alot of land based fishing on Stradbroke. If you know anyone with a four wheel drive as for a lift down to the pin, it is a good time of the year for tailor, bream and flathead. All of the surf beaches look for the gutters at low tide and fish them at high tide should be full of fish with all the fresh around. Fishing near whale rock off the headland is a winner can catch anything there including kingfish and mac tuna. The rock wall at amity and the amity jetty are also good land based fishing spots, these are good for bream, mackerel, tuna etc. Should have no problem catching a few this time of the year.

welcome to manhood son!

On the chew is spot-on, the bream will be queuing up at amity for the next month or so just before the moons on the moonrise you can walk on them. Fish light & simple & don't put your rod down.

The front eastern face of point lookout is a widowmaker - do not fish it on a calm day even if you haven't rock fishing experience. The biggest toll has been those that fish out on whale rock (near the blowhole) & those that fish the relatively easy to get to finger of rock that extends to the southern side of North Gorge.
Instead, you can walk up the track toward whale rock & descend a steepish descent #to fish a safe platform on the souhtern side - 1 one of the spearos on straddie took a jew from a school of seven in that area the week before last. #

2The rocks between frenchmans bay & deadman's fish well if the underwater boulders are exposed in the little bay there. The high rock there (some call it dune rock) is a good place to cast from.

If there is form on deadman's beach fish it at night. Last year a 4.5kg tailor was landed on that beach.

3 The rocks at cylinder beach are always worthwhile but don't make the mistake many do of casting a mile - the deeper water is often in close. There is always a hole on the eastern end.

Any gutter on main beach will perform. But as with all fishing you will have a learning curve. Use fresh local bait of course. Look for the hole & gutter forms with shell rubble on main beach.
