Now! I think I'm one lucky bugger.
Went for a fish today down to the Goldy, so I thought I'd have a go in the sea way and throw a few plastics around , any way , was using my Loomis IMX and Stradic 1000 of just 4 weeks, got snagged and broke of the leader , retied leader and jig head then threw lose end of line in the water with jighead, started motor and motored of ,AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH LINE AROUND PROP ,LOOMIS IN WATER AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH, stop the motor in a panic and lift it, I couldn't believe it the line was still around the prop and best of all still attached to $800 worth of rod and reel.
Aren't I a lucky bugger.

You must have panicked when you thought you lost your new rod. Glad you got it back. One good thing you caught that day.

Yes you are one lucky person, not so much for saving your rod and reel. But to be able to go fishing on a Friday with the weather so fine, while most of us were doing you know what!!!!! [smiley=computer.gif]

the best way to not break rods when snagged is to point the rod in the direction of the line and pull. You may need to hold the spool to stop the line from running.
