Recreational Fishing Community Grants

Extract from the Wynnum Herald, 17 August 2005:

"The Australian Fisheries & Conservation Minister, Senator Ian Macdonald said that community groups, associations, companies, institutions and individuals can apply for the first round of the RFCG Program for amounts up to $100 000 for local projects that improve the fishing experience.

Projects could involve improvements at boat ramps, funding for VMR associations, restocking and resnagging rivers and waterways, washing down facilities at boat ramps etc.

Might be of some use to those who could use some funds for a project.

I rekon Ausfish should apply for a $100,000 grant to fund a 'secret' artificial reef. $100,000 could buy a whole lot of busted-ar$e washing machines and 2nd hand tyres. Maybe we could sink our own ex-navy ship ;) ;D

Maybe Ausfish could just apply for a grant for itself being a rec fish community. That would surely ease the $burden of maintaining this excellent website.
